About Christie Lyn & lynphotos

Born in Halifax in August 1976, Christie returned to establish a home in her native province in October 2006. She loves spending time with her family and friends, and taking hikes or drives around "Canada’s Ocean Playground" with her camera in hand. Christie has always been involved in crafts & beading and she has an active interest in renovations & refinishing furniture! She enjoys her solo quiet time singing & writing song lyrics, reading, and listening to music. 

Christie studied at York University towards an Honours Bachelor of Environmental Studies, but always had a keen interest in photography, taking numerous day courses. She travelled extensively, taking pictures wherever she went in hopes that someday she could share them with more than just her family and friends!

While living in England and visiting family in West Cork, Ireland, Christie decided that a good way to get feedback on her photography work was to capture a niche in the greeting card market. There weren’t many local, hand-made cards around, so she started to make and sell her own (“Cards by Christie”) in 2003. By 2006, she was selling them in ten stores and very happy with the public’s reaction!

Most of her professional experience as a photographer came from her employment for the well-established and respected photography studio, ACS Photography, in Lincolnshire, England. Christie worked as a wedding photographer with them throughout Cambridgeshire & Lincolnshire, photographing over a dozen weddings.

Also on behalf of ACS Photography, Christie worked as an off-site portrait photographer, taking pictures of guests at (company & charity) social functions.

Upon returning to Canada, Christie knew she wanted to explore her true love of photography within our natural environment, and to share these images with the world.  With the help of good advice and fantastic support by the Entrepreneurs with Disabilities Network (EDN), a dedicated web designer, and the Self-Employment Benefit Program (CBDC), along with incorporating BodyTalk into her life, she is now well on her way to living her dream! 

Christie hopes that this accomplishment inspires more people with disabilities, and/or chronic migraines to pursue their passions!
